- Jonathan Lake was born on March 18, 1761 in Topsfield, Massachusetts, son of Daniel and Sarah (Bixby) Lake of Rindge.2
- He served about five years in the Revolutionary war, including the Saratoga campaign, that of 1778 with the battle of Monmouth, and enlisting last for three years in 1781. His first enlistment was at the age of 17. He was a farmer.2
- Jonathan married Hannah Hale, daughter of Enoch Hale and Abigail Stanley, on March 8, 1786.2
- Jonathan married Lucy Hale, daughter of Enoch Hale and Abigail Stanley, in 1836, as second husband and second wife.1
- Jonathan died on May 20, 1846 in Springfield, Windsor County, Vermont, at age 85.1
