He was the son of James W. Payne and Mary Addoline Glines.
The census of 1910 shows:
James W. Payne Jr., son, 15, a farm laborer; in the household of
James W. Payne, 60, an iron and rag junk dealer; and
Mary A. Payne, wife, 43, a laundress for private families;
living at Marion, Livingston County, Michigan.¹
James married Emma Blumline on June 15, 1915 in Macomb County, Michigan. James was a chauffeur. They were married by John O'Shea, priest. Witnesses were August Blumline of Grosse Pointe Farms and Edna Allos of Mt. Clemens.²
James died on February 14, 1946.
