Rebecca Perley1

  • Rebecca Perley was born on October 29, 1710 in Boxford, Massachusetts.2
  • She was the daughter of Capt. Thomas Perley and Sarah Osgood.1
  • Rebecca married Col. David Putnam, son of Elizabeth Porter, on February 14, 1728/29, Hon. Symond Epes, Esq., in Ipswich, officiating. They succeeded to his father's estate in Danvers.3
    On 2 Apr 1745, they quit-claimed all their rights to the property of their aunt, Mary (Osgood) Aslebee of Salem, their signatures being as here shown.
  • Rebecca died in 1790.3

Rebecca Perley1

  • Rebecca Perley was born on January 12, 1733/34 in Boxford, Massachusetts. , and lived in her father's family till his death. He bequeathed her the use of the west lower room and the garret over it, the privilege to bake and wash in the back room, to use the fourth part of the cellar, to keep a pig, to use the well and yard, so long as she should remain unmarried. He gave her two cows and six sheep, she and his executor to choose them alternately, hers to be the first choice, and also a quarter part of the household furniture and provisions. Thus she lived with her brother Aaron.2,1
  • She was the daughter of Thomas Perley and Eunice Putnam.1
  • Rebecca died on August 22, 1813 at age 79, unmarried. . Her will was proved 7 December following.1

  • Father: Aaron Perley1 b. September 18, 1755, d. December 10, 1831 or January 10, 1832
  • Mother: Mehitable Wood1 b. November 26, 1761, d. March 15, 1853
  • Rebecca Perley was born on April 21, 1799. "Aunt Rebecca," as she was familiarly called, was never married. Her birthplace was always her home.2
  • She was the daughter of Aaron Perley and Mehitable Wood.1
  • Rebecca died on September 18, 1881 at age 82. The Perley genealogy says, "She was a fine lady, possessed a bright intellect and good memory, and she shed a glowing radiance of peace all along her pathway. We recall with pleasure the many happy hours of our childhood spent in listening to her recital of tales ot the olden times. She was the Lord's and is now with him in glory."2
