Paul Pritchard1

b. 1721, d. 1787
  • Paul Pritchard was born in 1721.1
  • Paul Pritchard was a housewright, and built about 1749, and occupied, the present (as of 1906) dwelling of the late B. S. Barnes, Esq., Boxford, where all his children were born but the youngest. He became a member of the First Church on 7 May 1709.2

  • Paul married Hannah Perley, daughter of Amos Perley and Margaret Cogswell, on February 1, 1748/49. Their sons were somewhat remarkable, as large, athletic men, of sound constitution, and capable of great physical labor.3
  • On July 29, 1773, Paul Pritchard moved to New Ipswich, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire. He sold his property in Boxford, one hundred and thirteen acres of land and buildings thereon, to Amos Perley for .£668, who in 1787, having removed to Winthrop, Me., sold it to Thomas Putnam of Newbury. In New Ipswich, he lived on the Jeffts farm near Mason Village. He was a very influential citizen; he was a prominent member of the committee of safety and correspondence, at the breaking out of the Revolution; he was on committees to instruct delegates and representatives, to average claims for military service, to examine the Bill of Rights, etc; he contributed liberally of his means to prosecute the war and had two sons in active service; he was representative to the General Court in 1779, and during the last three years of his life he was a selectman.4
  • On 14 Sep 1777, he was dismissed from the First Church and recommended to the church in New Ipswich church.4
  • Paul died in 1787.1

  • Perley Pritchard was born in 1778.1
  • He was the son of Amos Pritchard and Anna Andrews.1
  • Perley Pritchard was graduated in 1799 from Dartmouth College, studied medicine, practiced in Baltimore, Md., and supposed to have been lost on a voyage to the West Indies.1
  • Perley married Mrs. (?) Stone of Billerica.1

William Pritchard1

  • He served in the Continental Army as a three-years man. He was in the militia, a captain of troop.1
  • William married Deidamia Cummings.1
  • He was instantly killed by being thrown from his chaise in 1835.1
