  • Hon. Otis Cary was born on June 14, 1804.1
  • He was the son of James Cary and Hannah Wales.
  • Otis Cary was baptized on August 5, 1804 in the Fourth Church of Christ in Bridgewater, now the First Congregational Church, Brockton, Massachusetts.3
  • Otis married Mary Dodge Torrey in November, 1830.4
  • Mr. Cary was a very active and successful business man, engaged in the manufacture of iron castings, at Foxboro', Mass., where he resided as of 1866. He held the office of selectman of that town for several years, represented the town in the Legislature in 1860 and 1861, was senator in 1863 and 1864, appointed Justice of the Peace in 1852, was President of the Savings Bank in Foxboro', also of the Loan Fund Association, and Vice-President of the Norfolk County Agricultural Society.5
