- Col. Simeon Cary was a carpenter by trade ; became a captain in the French war, 1758 and 1759, and was a colonel in the Revolutionary War in 1776. He was the master-builder of the second meeting-house in the North Parish, erected in 1763. He held many offices in the gift of the town, often officiating as moderator in the town meetings ; was selectman of the ancient town of Bridgewater for several years.4
- Simeon died on January 30, 1802 at age 82.1
- He was buried in North End or Ashland Cemetery, North Bridgewater (now Brockton), Massachusetts.1
