James Alfred Clark1

  • James Alfred Clark was born in June, 1800 in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England. His mother's maiden name was Green.1
  • James Alfred Clark was a weaver and stocking maker. He came for the purpose of setting up machinery for the lace factory, which then was in the house that, in 1906, was the palatial home of Joseph Ross on High street.1
  • James married Catherine Rust, daughter of Nathaniel Rust and Judith Perley, on January 21, 1824 in Ipswich, Massachusetts.1
  • James died on May 7, 1862 in Hatteras Inlet at age 61, a patriot soldier in the Rebellion War, having enlisted in Co. I, 23d Infantry, 28 Sep 1861.2
