Robert Colby was probably born about 1609 in Horbling, Lincolnshire, England. He was named last in his father's will of 1625. There is a possibility that he [Robert] was actually an adopted nephew, his mother having died when he was about 11 months old.¹

Robert Lawrence Colby was a talented musician, playing trumpet for Never's Regimental Band, for 40 years. He, as were his brothers, was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Robert died on August 23, 1993 in Canterbury, Merrimack County, New Hampshire, at age 80.
He and Irene (Lord) Richardson were buried in Maple Grove Cemetery, Canterbury, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.
