  • Mary Ann Scott was born on November 21, 1818, daughter of Nathaniel Scott.1
  • Mary married Warren Nourse, son of Daniel Nourse and Hannah Jewett of Rowley, on December 3, 1843.1
  • Mary died on April 9, 1900 at age 81 of pneumonia. The local journal in a notice of her said: "In disposition amiable, in character irreproachable, in life quiet, Christ-like and consistent, it may truthfully be said of her, 'Blessed are the pure in heart.' She was a woman of most attractive personal appearance, which was made still more beautiful by the graces of mind and heart with which she was endowed. In her girlhood days she united with the Methodist church, for which she always retained a deep love."1

  • Nathaniel Scott was a farmer, and took charge of the " Treadwell farm," on East street, Ipswich, Massachusetts, on March 23, 1819. He was several years superintendent of the Ipswich town farm.1
  • Nathaniel died on November 16, 1862 at age 77.1
