b. December 7, 1696
  • Reference: 0802h
  • Stephen Clark was born on December 7, 1696 in Wallingford, Connecticut. Numerous sources show his mother as Sarah (Peck) Clark, however she died over six months before he was born. It seems the most reasonable supposition is that his mother was Elizabeth, although born slightly out of wedlock, and apparently conceived through bigamy.

History of Wallingford says he died ov. 25, 1750, æ 64, in Cheshire. Barbour Records (Wallingford) also show a Stephen with this date. The former lists him fathering children eleven years after his death, and the latter lists additional children until Stephen was age 73. It seems likely that he did die in 1750, and that there was another Stephen who married Ruth.2
  • He was the son of Ebenezer Clark and Elizabeth Parker.1
  • Stephen married Lydia Hotchkiss of Cheshire on September 12, 1716 in Wallingford, Connecticut, as his first wife. They were married by Capt. Yale.2
  • Stephen married Ruth (?) on November 1, 1737 as his second wife.3
