- As the oldest resident of Bow, she had been the keeper the Boston Post Cane since 1997. She was a 83-year member of the Hooksett Grange No. 148; a member of the Hooksettites and the Bow senior citizens' "Young at Heart" Club; and a volunteer for the Fresh Air children's program in the 1940s and 1950s.
- Jane died on September 8, 2001 in Bow, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.
- She was buried on September 10, 2001 in Head Cemetery, Hooksett, Merrimack County, New Hampshire. The Rev. William Donoghue of Brookside Congregational Church officiated.
