Sarah Kingsbury was born in 1766 daughter of Simon and Deliverance (Cady) Kingsbury.²
Sarah married David Hale, son of Corporal Benjamin Hale and Mary Taylor, on October 5, 1794 in Ellington, Connecticut.³
Sarah died on May 7, 1847 in Turner, Androscoggin County, Maine. Hon. Eugene Hale, U. S. Senator, says in a letter, Nov. 10, 1900, "My sister, Mrs. Dr. Gushing, of Turner, writes to me, recalling the bright intelligence and
refinement of our grandmother, Sarah Kingsbury Hale."³
