  • William Spofford was born in 1728 in Spofford's Hill, Georgetown, Massachusetts, son of Capt. John and Uorcas (Hopkinson) Spofford.1
  • William married Abigail Perley, daughter of Amos Perley and Margaret Cogswell, on November 1, 1750.1
  • He was a soldier in the French and Indian War, served under Capt. Humphrey Hobbs of Souhegan in the defence of the eastern frontiers from 31 May to 15 Sep 1754.1
  • He died or was killed fighting in the campaign of of 1759.1
