- He lived for several years in Oliver Burr's house, where his children were born and his first wife died. He also lived in a fine house afterward owned by his son Harlow and occupied in 1900 by Charles Northway.2
- Augustus married Lucy Smith, daughter of Asher Smith of Middletown, Conn. and Sarah (?), on November 9, 1813.1
- March 17, 1816, Augustus Roys was admitted to the at Church of Christ, Norfolk, Connecticut; Admitted.
- In 1835, Augustus Roys he started in the tanning business. He and Augustus Smith built the first tannery in South Norfolk, which was burned and rebuilt..2
- Augustus died intestate on October 3, 1842 in Norfolk, Connecticut, at age 51. His estate was administered by Harlow Roys.1
