Ezra Putnam1

  • Ezra Putnam was born on July 5, 1759 in Middleton, Massachusetts.2
  • He was the son of Major Ezra Putnam and Lucy Putnam.1
  • He was killed by Indians during the winter of 1791-92. Ezra had gone to Marietta about 1788, and some of his letters are extant. In one under date of 29th May, 1788, to his mother, he speaks well of the settlement at Marietta and mentions his brother Small of Middleton.1
