  • He was the son of John Henclive (Jr.)1
  • John married Jane (?)1
  • His will was dated 1464. He left land in Mellefeld as well as other properties in Tenham. He also left 'Johnthomas gardyn' and Lytyl gardyn' to his sons to glase a long window on the North bed of the Chyrche at Tenham. The chancelin which this glass was placed in Tenham is still [1993] known as 'The Hinkley Chancel.1'

  • March 26, 1836, John Hinckley and wife Eunice, grantors, sold a lot on the north side of Lydius street, west of and adjoining John Lumley's lot, Albany County, New York, to John W. Hinckley.3
  • May 1, 1847, John W. Hinckley, wife Maria, sold to Joseph Hinckley, Lot 17, W side Rose st.3
  • The census of 1850 shows: John W. Hinkley, 46, a physician with $5000 real estate; and Maria Hinkley, 31, attending school (see note); listed with Isabella Hinkley, Warren Hinkley, Frederick Hinkley and George Hinkley
    living at Ward 4, Albany, Albany County, New York.
    Also living there was Mary Dorme, 12, from Germany.4
