Some sources, such as Cutter's Genealogical and Family History of the State of Connecticut, and Davis' Early Families of Wallingford, Connecticut say that Robert married a second wife, Abigail Benedict, in 1709/10, however Robert's four children born after this date are listed in the Barbour Collection as born to "Robert & Mary."³

It was performed by Daniel Wetherel, Commissioner, and probably in the Court Room, as it was recorded among the other proceedings of the Court. Marriages were conducted in that way; the couple entering the room with their friends, and arranging themselves in front of the bench.²
Ruth married Abraham Doolittle.
