Edmund married Ellen Woodward, daughter of Benjamin Woodward and Jane Weeks of Exeter, on April 16, 1837 in Washington, Sullivan County, New Hampshire, as his first wife. They were married by David Farnsworth, Justice of the Peace.⁴
The census of 1850 shows: Edmund P. Dodge, 33, a farmer with $1000 real estate; and Ellen Dodge, 37;
living at Newbury, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.
Also living there were Polly Dodge, 60; and Hepsibeth Dodge, 58.⁵
The census of 1860 shows: Edmund P. Dodge, 42, a farmer with $2000 real estate and $703 personal estate; and Ellen W. Dodge, 46;
living at Newbury, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.
Also living there was Mary Dodge, 72.⁶
Edmund married on February 25, 1869 in Newbury, Merrimack County, New Hampshire, Martha Campbell as his second wife, and her first husband. He was a farmer. She was 32, born Hillsborough, N.H., daughter of Daniel and Elizabeth (Sweetser) Campbell. They were married by Eli Dodge, Justice of the Peace.¹
Edmund died on February 24, 1883 in Putney, Windham County, Vermont, at age 65 of apoplexy. He was a farmer.²
