In 1850, he had 40 acres of improved and 25 acres of unimproved land, on a farm valued at $500, with $10 of farm implements and machines. He had 1 horse, 2 milch cows, 2 working oxen, and 10 sheep. Total value of livestock: $124. The farm produced 10 bushels of wheat, 20 bushels of Indian corn, 2 bushels of peas and beans, 50 bushels of potatoes, 28 lbs of wool, 100 lbs of butter, and 10 tons of hay.6,7
- On April 27, 1852, Sally Ricker bought land in the north half of lot no. 37 in the 3rd division, Sweden, Oxford County, Maine. She bought this land from George W. Hale of Sweden, yeoman, for $500.8
- Sally died on November 22, 1858.9
- She was buried in Elm Vale Cemetery, Waterford, Oxford County, Maine, Her headstone says: "Sally, wife of Charles Hale, died Nov. 22, 1858, ae. 72."9
