  • Margaret Gambell was born on April 13, 1897 in St. Lawrence Island, Alaska. She was the first known relative of mine to be born in Alaska, and so far the only one.1
  • She was the daughter of Vene C. Gambell and Nellie Frances Webster.1
  • Margaret Gambell died on May 20, 1898 at age 1 when the ship, the Jane Grey sank on the return voyage to St. Lawrence Island.1
