The census of 1860 shows: Calvin Colby, 49, a farmer with $200 personal estate; and Nancy Colby, 48; listed with Lavina Colby
living at Hebron, Grafton County, New Hampshire.
Also living there were Lucy Ferren, 78, with $500 real estate and $40 personal estate; and Susan D. Morse, 23, a teacher.³
Nancy died in May, 1864 at age 53.¹

Margaret Gambell was born on April 13, 1897 in St. Lawrence Island, Alaska. She was the first known relative of mine to be born in Alaska, and so far the only one.¹
She was the daughter of Vene C. Gambell and Nellie Frances Webster.¹
Margaret Gambell died on May 20, 1898 at age 1 when the ship, the Jane Grey sank on the return voyage to St. Lawrence Island.¹

Vene C. Gambell was born about 1870.
Vene married Nellie Frances Webster, daughter of James Andrew Webster and Mary Emily Allen, on August 12, 1890.¹
, Vene C. Gambell and Nellie Frances Webster went to at St. Lawrence Island, Alaska, as missionary/teachers to the Yupik peoples there.¹
Apparently there were some birth complications for Nellie and late that year they returned to the lower 48 for Nellie to have an operation.¹
On May 20, 1898, Vene C. Gambell and Nellie Frances Webster set sail on the Jane Grey to return to St. Lawrence Island. .¹
On May 22, 1898, the bottom was lost in the ship and all three were drowned.¹
