Obituary from Little Falls (MN) Daily Transcript:

'Mrs. Hill Dies; Resident Here for 66 Years

Mrs. Elvin G. Hill passed away at 9:10 a.m. today at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ed. M. LaFond, from complications resulting from a hip fracture which she sustained July 8 while living at the Joslin apartments on Third street northeast.
Isadora A. Mix was born August 23, 1852, in Warren, Vt., her parents beings Lucia Billings and Luther Mix. She received a district school education, and taught in the rural schools of Vermont for eight terms, her first term being finished before she was 15 years of age.

After her father's death she and her mother went to Delhi, Ohio, to live with a brother, Dexter Mix. In November, 1871, she came to Little Elk, four miles north of this city, to make her home with a sister, Mrs. Jonathan Taylor. Here on January 22, 1872, she was married to Elvin G. Hill, who owned and operated grist and saw mills at Little Elk.

In the fall of 1881, having disposed of his interests at Little Elk, Mr. Hill moved to Little Falls with his family and they resided here continuously at the family home at 205 Third street southeast until Mr. Hill received the appointment of government custodian of Star Island in Cass Lake. Mrs. Hill and two daughters accompanied him to Star Isalnd and made their home there until Mr. Hill's death, November 25, 1905.

Mrs. Hill returned to this city and with the exception of one year spent at the R. L. Nichols home in St. Cloud, has lived here ever since.

She was a member of the First Congregational church.

Besides Mrs. LaFond there are two daughters surviving, Mrs. R. L. Nichols of Virginia and Mrs. N. E. Ferrell of Lewistown, Mont.

Mrs. Hill also leaves 12 grandchildren, among whom are Mrs. Ione Fisher, Mrs. George L. Johnson and Carroll W. Brown of this city, and 10 great-grandchildren'

'WARREN (alt. 893, pop. township 486) ... is another little lumber-milling settlement occupying an uneven terrain in the mountains between *Warren Pinnacle* (alt. 1700) ... and *Sugarloaf Mountain* (alt. 2120) ... Woodworking mills lie along the Mad River below the village street with puffs of white steam blowing from the pipes and fading against stackes of fresh timber. From early times lumbering has been the primary activity, and the inevitable accidents that accompany the trade took the lives of many pioneer lumberjacks, killing them under falling trees and in log jams. The *United Church* ..., on a knoll with a stonewall base, commands the unpainted homes of the street.' --- Vermont, A Guide to the Green Mountain State, WPA, 1937, p 251. Warren is 6 or 7 miles north of Waitsfield, where Isadora's father Luther was born.
