  • Ann married Joshua Gardner on May 19, 1828 in Dorchester, Massachusetts.
  • The census of 1850 shows: Ann J. Gardner, 47, with $15,000 real estate;, Also living there was a laborer, Wm. Pelton, 23, from Maine; and Julia Punch, 20, and Rosanna Henty, 18, both from Ireland; listed with Lucy A. Gardner and Mary E. Gardner
    living at Dorchester, Massachusetts.3

  • John Phillips, of Mobile Alabama, married Ann Jane Gardner, of Dorchester, on October 21, 1856 in Dorchester, Massachusetts, as his third wife, and her second husband. He was a merchant.2
  • The census of 1860 shows: John Phillips, 56, a gentleman, with $60,000 real estate and $20,000 personal estate; and Ann J. Phillips, 28;
    living at Dorchester, Massachusetts.

  • He married Olive Cary, daughter of Daniel Cary and Mehetabel Brett, on April 8, 1802 in the Fourth Church of Christ in Bridgewater, now the First Congregational Church, Brockton, Massachusetts. (Intention not recorded.) She was his first wife.1
  • Apollos married Emily, daughter of Oliver Howard, as his second wife, and had four children. She died, and he then married Bethiah, daughter of Jonathan Porter, of North Bridgewater. They had six children.2
  • Apollos died on March 5, 1849 at age 64.2
