  • Clara married Orren E. Colby, son of Edward H. Colby and Jennie F. Slye, on January 14, 1921 in Franklin, Merrimack County, New Hampshire, as his second wife, and her second husband. He was an express agent and she was a needle maker. They were married by George A. Cole.1


  • The Concord City Directory from 1922 to 1924 lists:
    Colby, Orren E (Clara M) American Railway Express agent Franklin, house 54 No Main.
  • The census of 1930 shows: Orren E. Colby, 55, express agent for the railroad; and Clara M. Colby, wife, 34, music teacher;
