• He taught school three terms, and then entered the Mass. Institute of Technology, where he remained two years, intending to become a civil engineer. But his father urged him to remain at home and join him in the management of the farm. This he consented to do, and he prospered. The large and commodious mansion is jointly occupied by his own and his father's family.²
• Warren Herbert Fairbank was educated at Winchenden Acadamy, Winchendon, Massachusetts, for one term²
• and at Lancaster Academy, Lancaster, Massachusetts, for one term.²
• Warren married Catherine Alice Houghton, daughter of Marcellus Houghton and Catherine Charlotte Fogg, on September 14, 1876. They were second cousins. Catherine was a resident of Concord.²

• Warren Herbert Fairbank was elected as Selectman for three years; Assessor seven years. He was a member of the School Committee fourteen years; trustee of the Public Library eleven years; trustee of the Warner Free Lecture Fund of ten thousand dollars; and trustee of the Bromfield Academy for ten years; chairman of the building Committee of the Public Library. He has peculiar gifts as a presiding officer, and has served for many years as Moderator of Town and other public meetings.²
• Warren Herbert Fairbank was a man of good mental ability, and one of the most prominent citizens
