  • Marietta Clark Ames was born on April 28, 1852 in Chelsea, Massachusetts, daughter of Job and Mary C. Ames.1,2
  • Marietta married Clarence E. Woodward, son of William Elliot Woodward and Clarissa Eliza Roys, on December 15, 1881 in Chelsea, Massachusetts, Clarence was a trader. They were married by W. Spaulding, a Universalist clergyman.1
  • Mrs. C. E. Woodward and C. E. Woodward embarked from Yarmouth, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia, Canada, on the Boston.3
  • "To the heirs at law, next of kin and all other persons interested in the estate of Job Ames, late of Chelsea, in [Suffolk] County, deceased: Whereas certain instruments purporting to the last will and testament--and two codicels--of said deceased have been presented to said Court, for probate, by Marietta C. A. Woodward , of Melrose, in the County of Middlesex, who prays that letters of administration with the will annexed may be issued to Fred C. Ames and Clarence E. Woodward without giving a surety on their bonds, or to some other suitable persons:--You are hereby cited to appear at a Probate Court, to be held at Boston, in said County of Suffolk, on the twenty-third day of July, A.D. 1896, at ten o'clock in the forenoon, to show cause, if any you have, why the same should not be granted. And said petitioner is hereby directed to give public notice thereof, by publishing this citation once each week for three successive weeks, in the Boston Daily Advertiser, a newspaper published in said Boston, the last publication to be one day, at least, before said Court, and by mailing, post-paid, or delivering a copy of this citation to all known persons interested in the estate, seven days at least before said Court. Witness, John W. McKim, Esquire, Judge of said Court, this eighth day of July, in the year one thousand eight hundred and ninety-six.4'

  • Millicent Ames was born perhaps 1602. She was described as "a tender-hearted soule full of fears and temptations, but truly breathing after Christ." She was received in the fellowship of the Dedham church in the winter of 1638-9 without making a public recital of her experience; but by giving good satisfaction in private and by publicly assenting to the relation made for her.2
  • Millicent married Joseph Kingsbury, son of James Kingsburie and Anne Francis, in England.2
  • Millicent died after 1676.2
