• Syene Hale was vice-president of the Washington Benevolent Society of Cheshire county. His father-in-law, Moses Dow, was a member.²

• He studied medicine under Dr. Eben. Carpenter of Alstead, M. D., Dartmouth in 1833. He practiced medicine in Newport, then in Chesterfield, N. H. (1834-6.)²
• In 1837, Syene Hale moved to Fredonia, Ohio.²
• Syene married Hannah Philbrick as his second wife.¹
• In 1855 or 1856, Syene Hale moved to Hudson, Lenawee County, Michigan, where he served the government as examining surgeon.²

• Thomas Hale was born about 1577 in Hertfordshire, England. Some sources claim his parents to be William and Rose (Bond) Hale. It appears William Hale was born 1567 or 1568, and if Thomas was born about 1577, this is impossible.

I Also I giue and bequeave vnto Thomas my son two halfe acres of free land lieinge in Headen abuttinge vpon the highway leadinge from Watton to Walkerne, also the assignement of one peece containinge an acre & a halfe lyeinge in Monsals hearn betwen the land of Mr. Burgin in the tenure of widow Risdell towards the north & the land of John Halfhide towards the south, also one pcell of medow pasture Close & orchard, Mr. Coopers Crofte aboutinge vpon the riuer on the east & highway on the west. One peece in stony feild lyeinge between the land of Mr. Burgin now in the tenure of the widow Balme, which lands last nameed together wth all my goods & Chattells (excepting a bed wth beddinge conuenient linnen & other fittinge furniture for one Chamber which I herby reserue & giue to Jone my wife) I giue & bequeave wholly to my said son both land and goods to be sold for the payments of my debts & dischargeinge of burial] & such necessary disbursments, & I doe herby ordayne and appoint my son Thomas Hale to be the sole executor of this my last will & testament, nothinge doubtinge of his carefull prformance of this my will, and I doe bequest of my brother Francis Kirby to be an ouerseer & doe hereby revoke all former wills & bequeastes what soeuer.
