• James lived near Newport, Muskingum County, Ohio. In the year 1816 he kept a record of expenses while taking a drove of cattle to Baltimore for a Alexander Henderson. • He first owned a horse mill and later secured steam power and ran a grist mill and saw mill combined. He bought 1,000 acres of land on Bonds Creek, which extended from the Ohio River to the Kanawha River. It is listed in Wood County Court House. They settled in Ellenboro, Ritchie County, Va. (now W.Va.) where they spent their entire married lives. In his will of Jan. 5, 1861 - probated Sept. 19, 1863, recorded in Ritchie County Court House (Will Book A, page 4) he left his property to the two nephews he had reared.²
• John died on June 22, 1861 in Ellenboro, Ritchie County, West Virginia.²
• He and Nancy Husher were buried in Ellenboro Cemtery, a.k.a. Lamberton or Lambert Cemetery, Ellenboro, Ritchie County, West Virginia, Neither has a stone but Nancy has "MKL - P. 424" (cemetery records?)²
