Mary Rebekah Rawson was born on December 1, 1870 in Pennsboro, Ritchie County, West Virginia.
She was the daughter of Thomas Jefferson Rawson and Joanna Corbin.
Mary married Samuel Morris on May 12, 1890 in Elizabeth, Wirt County, West Virginia.
The census of 1900 shows: Samuel Morris, 31; and Mollie Morris, 29; listed with Jessie Morris
living at Elizabeth, Wirt County, West Virginia.
The census of 1910 shows: Mollie Morris, 39; listed with Jessie Morris and Thomas Rawson
living at Elizabeth, Wirt County, West Virginia.
Mary Rebekah Rawson was graduated in 1917 from Central Hospital with honors, as a registered nurse. She was a 50 year member of the Rebekah's Lodge (Marion Chapter #1). She was also a member of the Ladies Auxilliary Patriach Militant #6 of Parkersburg, W.Va. (This is a branch of the Independent IOF lodge).
Mary died on October 30, 1960 in Porterfield, Washington County, Ohio, at age 89 at her daughter's home. The auxilliary #6 paid this tribute to her: 'Memories will touch the hearts of the ladies of this Auxilliary, as they remember the active years of Lady Mollie with them. The good she accomplished and kindness rendered, as a member, officer, and president. Lady Mollie will be remembered as the lady with the busy hands, in her community, her home and her garden she loved working in so much. As a registered nurse, the sick will remember her gentle touch as she ministered to them.'
She was buried in K of P Cemetery, Elizabeth, Wirt County, West Virginia.
