Charles Henry Adams1

b. May 17, 1809, d. September 18, 1880
  • Charles Henry Adams was born on May 17, 1809 in Georgetown, Massachusetts, in the old Adams homestead, owned in 1906 by Shute on Nelson avenue, and with his eldest brother Abraham, built the house occupied in 1906 by Mr. Lowell G. Wilson.2
  • He was the son of Benjamin Adams 3d and Lois Perley.1
  • Charles Henry Adams was constable in his native town, and was elected to the same in Danvers nearly every year for twenty years. He held a deputy sheriff's warrant for twelve successive years, and was always a faithful and conscientious officer. He held various positions in the municipal affairs of Danvers, among which was that of selectman.2
  • Charles married Eliza Moore and had two boys and two girls. All but one daughter died before 1880.2
  • Charles died on September 18, 1880 in Danvers, Massachusetts, at age 71, where he had resided for over twenty-five years. The death of his son about a year before was a severe blow which added to a not very strong constitution and general ill-health nearly prostrated him and from which he never recovered, but gradually failed until the end.2
