Asa Peabody1

  • Asa Peabody was born on July 1, 1741 in Boxford, Massachusetts, son of John and Mary (Chadwick) Peabody.1
  • He married Susannah Perley, daughter of Maj. Asa Perley and Susannah Low, on September 5, 1765 and lived in Londonderry, Rockingham County, New Hampshire.1
  • Asa Peabody and Susannah Perley moved to Boxford, Massachusetts, and the site of his residence was, in 1906, occupied by the residence of Mr. Solomon Washington Howe in the East Parish. He was town treasurer for several years; he was much respected for his integrity and symmetry of character. Just previous to his death he presented the town the original cemetery lot near the First Church; he was the first to be interred there.2
