  • Samuel Dale was a farmer at Wenham, Massachusetts.1
  • He married Betsey Wood, daughter of Solomon Wood and Phoebe Perley, on March 8, 1827. Their home was at the Samuel Twisden place in Boxford, Massachusetts.1
  • He was drowned on September 10, 1836. His epitaph is near the graves of his wife's parents,—thus:

    To a dear child, and a beloved wife,
    I strove in vain, my precious life to save,
    But sunk in death, beneath the briny wave.

    Farewell: farewell! a sad, a long farewell!
