• On from May, 1863 to June, 1863, Horace A. Sawyer enlisted for the draft. . He was a Cooper. His residence was shown as 186 Salem Street.⁴
• He was a Civil War Veteran, drummer, Co.H, First. Mass. Inf, member of General Lander G.A.R. Post # 5, Lynn, Mass.⁵
• Horace married Hannah A. Sawyer on June 19, 1867 in Lynn, Massachusetts, by Rev. James M. Whiton, pastor of First Church. Hannah apparently lied about her age. She was only 15 at marriage, and said that she was 20.⁶
• In 1897, he was a salesman.¹
• Horace died on March 30, 1897 in Lynn, Massachusetts, of Bright's disease (uraemia.)¹
• He was buried in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn, Massachusetts.⁵

• Martha married Edmund Hale, son of Henry Hale and Sarah Kelly, on May 16, 1728.¹
