George married Mrs. Rosamond York Jones on October 11, 1968 in Juneau, Juneau City and Borough, Alaska.
George William Colby was a dairy farmer with a prize-winning Holstein herd. Later he and his brothers, Sterling and Jim, founded and operated until 1970, Colby Brothers Inc., which for many years was the largest vegetable growers in New Hampshire.¹
George died on November 13, 1995 in Litchfield, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, at age 99, at his home. Mr. Colby was the oldest resident of Litchfield, and had received a town cane in recognition of his status.¹
He was buried in Hillcrest Cemetery, Litchfield, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire.
