He was a farmer in Canaan, and she was housekeeper in Woodstock. They were married by Harry Leeds, Justice of the Peace. They had two children, who died young.2,3

- Bela married Emeline B. Bell, daughter of Capt. Sargent Colby and Ruth A. Colby, on May 20, 1889 in Canaan, Grafton County, New Hampshire, as his fourth wife, and her second husband. He was a farmer in Canaan. She was a dressmaker in Boston. They were married by J. H. Trow, pastor of the [Methodist Episcopal] Canaan Street Church/East Canaan Church.5
- Bela died on May 24, 1897 in Canaan, Grafton County, New Hampshire, at age 77 of apoplectic shock. He was a farmer.6
