Clifton- John L. Hardy of this town died on the morning of the 17th of inflammation of the bowels, an operation having been performed about 36 hours previous by a specialist from Minneapolis assisted by Drs. Gendron and Cotton.With exception of a few years in which he was in business in River Falls, the deceased has passed nearly all his life in Clifton and was held in the highest respect and esteem by his fellow citizen. Rev. Obenhans of Prescott conducted the services, the interment being the the Prescott cemetery.Over sixty teams were in the procession.
